Ocean Network Express Takes to the Waterways in Celebration of World Clean Up Day
Singapore, 9 October 2023 – Ocean Network Express (ONE) proudly marked World Cleanup Day with a month-long #SeaTheChange campaign, as part of the ongoing #ONEOcean initiative.
With a common mission to make our planet a cleaner place, ONE employees across the globe came together to collect litter and debris from the waterways.
This year, as a Healthy Bays Partner for Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup™, selected ONE offices utilised the Clean Swell® app to further amplify the impact of their cleanup efforts. By cataloguing each item of trash collected, ONE plays an important role by contributing valuable datapoints to a comprehensive database, which in turn provides researchers and policymakers with the insights required for informed and targeted action. Access ONE’s report by searching for “ONE Planet” here.
At ONE’s global headquarters in Singapore, CEO Jeremy Nixon and Corporate & Innovation Division’s MD Yasuki Iwai led by example, joining 47 ONE employees in a beach cleanup at East Coast Park. Their active participation underscores ONE’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
In total, ONE’s #SeaTheChange campaign saw 508 employees in 19 countries collectively removing over 2,290 kg (5,050 lbs) of rubbish from 28 waterways, parks, and beaches. For more information and event photos, please visit the Campaign Roundup here.
As a global shipping company, ONE is committed to protecting the world’s oceans and waterways. While the World Cleanup Day is an excellent opportunity to make a difference, ONE emphasises the importance of making every day a World Cleanup Day and #SeaTheChange. As ONE, we Can.
