Customer Advisory - Change to PSA Group for UN Numbers - Changes to Transshipment DG Handling charges (DHT) 

Singapore Port Authority (PSA) has implemented changes to the designated PSA Group classifications for specific UN Numbers, with particular focus on battery and battery related dangerous goods.

These revised PSA Group classifications may affect the handling, segregation, and applicable requirements for affected DG cargo transhipping via Singapore.

Mandatory Monitoring for Selected Battery DG Shipments In response to increasing fire related incidents and operational exceptions involving battery cargo, PSA will require mandatory monitoring services for selected battery DG shipments, particularly where prolonged dwell time at the port may pose a heightened safety risk.

Key changes include:

• Affected battery DG shipments will be reclassified from PSA Group 3 to PSA Group 2.
• The impacted UN Numbers include:

UN3090, UN3091, UN3171, UN3480, UN3481, UN3536, UN3551, UN3552, UN3556, UN3557, and UN3558.

The revised PSA Group classifications and related DG surcharges for containers transhipping through Singapore take immediate effect.

Important Reminder
Customers are strongly advised to ensure that all DG declarations are accurate, complete, and submitted in a timely manner. Shipment planning should also comply fully with the revised PSA requirements to avoid potential penalties, delays, or operational disruptions. Please ensure that the above changes are taken into consideration for all applicable DG shipments.
